Short Term Medical Short term insurance is a great tool to fill the temporary protection needs some folks have. We offer short term health insurance from several different companies. Medical Mutual of Ohio, United Health Care's Golden Rule, American Community Mutual, Assurant (Time) and Anthem BC&BS. Some companies require that you pay up front for the entire term of the contract you choose. Some companies will allow you to pay one month at a time and cancel when you wish. And still others will allow the agent to bind the contract term at the time the customer takes the plan out and give you a temporary ID card. Short term health insurance should be used for situations such as, people between jobs, probation period before your new job covers you, graduating students not covered until their new job starts. There is danger with short term health coverage to be careful of. If you are being treated for anything when your term runs out all of the companies will stop paying your claims. And if the condition is serious enough, no other company will pick you up.
